Biography

Dr Kevin Cutajar was born on 9th May 1978 on the island of Gozo, where he was brought up. In his childhood he lost his eyesight, but he believed in his abilities and move on.

Kevin received his obligatory education in Gozo. He also attended the University of Malta and earned a BA Hons. in Italian (2000) and a Doctorate of Laws (2006).

Kevin has worked as a lawyer ever since and his specialization is in Civil Law and finance. He is active in organizations of persons with disability, driven by the idea that such persons can succeed.

Led by the wish to contribute, Kevin entered politics and joined the Nationalist Party. In 2007, he contested the Local Council election in his hometown of Xaghra and was elected uninterruptedly till 2019. During the last term, Kevin served as minority leader.

In 2019, Kevin was co-opted to serve in the Maltese Parliament from the opposition. His co-option became necessary to fill a vacant seat on the Gozo district. Here Kevin was the natural choice, because he had contested the last election in 2017 and was next in line to be elected. Besides the 2017 national election, Kevin contested that of 2013, as well as the 2014 European Parliament election with satisfactory results. Kevin has actively participated in Parliamentary work at various levels with one aim in mind, the well-being of Malta and Gozo. He served as shadow minister for lands, construction and sustainable planning and for the voluntary sector, EU funds and State aid and as vice whip. Now, Kevin stands as candidate on the Nationalist Party ticket for the 2022 national election on the district of Gozo.
